Uniting entrepreneurship with global opportunity in Carmarthenshire & Ceredigion

27 Mar, 2024

GlobalWelsh has always had an ambition to be a beacon of entrepreneurial spirit for Wales. Founded and managed by a team of entrepreneurs and seasoned business leaders as a collective we understand the intricacies of nurturing a successful business and the significance of investing in robust networks. At its core, we harbour a passion for the success of Welsh businesses, not just within Wales but on a global scale.

The Welsh business diaspora, consisting of thousands of exceptional individuals with their own stories of success, share a unified goal: to give back and support Wales in any way they can. The GlobalWelsh Carmarthenshire & Ceredigion Connector Hub, embodies this mission. It is an initiative designed to forge connections between local Welsh businesses and an influential global Welsh diaspora.

Through this project, in partnership with Sgema through funds from ARFOR, we are aiming to empower Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion-based businesses through passion, opportunity, and knowledge from within the Welsh diaspora network:

Opportunities for business: GlobalWelsh Connect, our digital community engagement platform, is the gateway to these opportunities, whether it’s finding an international partner, gaining market insights, or even connecting with an experienced international business mentor.

Knowledge for business: the wealth of knowledge within our community is immense, encompassing leading business minds and entrepreneurs all linked to Wales in some way. We facilitate the sharing of this invaluable knowledge, aiding businesses in Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion to avoid common pitfalls and fast-track their success.

The Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion Connector Hub: a dedicated initiative for west Wales

The launch of the Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion Connector Hub, hosted on GlobalWelsh Connect, is an innovative pilot for west Wales. We are offering a one-year complimentary membership to businesses in the region, inviting them to leverage the global network and knowledge base of the Welsh diaspora. This initiative is not just about business growth; it's about regional revitalisation, connecting local aspirations with a global pool of resources and expertise.

An example of GlobalWelsh’s work

In a significant stride towards global connectivity, last year we launched our newest Global Hub in the United States - GlobalWelsh USA. Spearheaded by Jan Griffiths, a Bridgend-born automotive industry professional, this volunteer-led 'virtual' hub aims to unify and expand the Welsh business diaspora network in the USA. With nearly two million people of Welsh ancestry in the States, this initiative opens up vast opportunities for mutual growth and economic benefits both in Wales and the USA.

GlobalWelsh USA focuses on guiding Welsh businesses looking to expand into the American market, advocating for inward investment from the USA to Wales, and fostering cultural awareness. Jan Griffiths, recognised as one of the Top 100 Leading Women in the automotive industry, recent author of Autoculture 2.0 and founder of Gravitas Detroit, brings her extensive experience to lead this venture. The hub's collaboration with Welsh communities, networks, and government organisations across the U.S. is poised to create a vibrant, interconnected community, enhancing opportunities for Welsh people worldwide.

Join us

We invite businesses in Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion to join GlobalWelsh on our journey, to engage with the entrepreneurial spirit and global reach of the Welsh diaspora.

Participation in the Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion Connector Hub offers a unique opportunity for local businesses to expand, innovate, and be part of a larger narrative of Welsh success and prosperity.
